How long does delivery take?

Who do you use for delivery?

Can I track my delivery?

A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £60 on the day of dispatch. For orders under £60 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.

What does 'Special Order' mean?

Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier. An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.

Can I return an item?

Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*. You can return for an exchange or refund.Refunds are carried out immediately after receiving your item back. Return postage is at your own cost.* for safety reasons, we do not accept the return of climbing equipment or underwear once it has been tried on.

All items sold come with a minimum 12 month warranty that covers defects in materials or workmanship.Certain brands offer an additional warranty. You can find this information on the brands own website, or you can contact us for additional information.

The Meindl Philadelphia GTX walking shoes are an incredibly protective shoe designed for low level trail and urban walking. Made from the highest quality Nubuck leather, this shoe is durable and supple with an element of class. The addition of a GORE-TEX lining makes it breathable and waterproof, ensuring its suitability for all weather conditions. As part of Meindl’s Comfort-Fit range the Philadelphia GTX has a wider front allowing more space for movement whilst maintaining a firmer grip on the heel. The shoe comes equipped with an Air-Active Wellness Sport footbed, providing a superbly comfy, cushioned insole simultaneously enabling the circulation of fresh air. The Meindl Philadelphia Womens GTX is designed with a wider fit than their standard shoes for a comfortable and spacious fit. The shoe has a tough Nubuck leather upper, lined with breathable and waterproof Gore-Tex, which will allow internal moisture to escape without letting rainwater in.

Caring for Nubuck Leather Footwear

Nubuck leather starts out as full grain leather but is sanded and brushed on the surface to give a matt finish and increase breathability.

To preserve the life of your footwear, it is important to regularly treat the leather to keep it nourished and help prevent it from drying out. All leather/nubuck will eventually harden and crack - especially in areas where the upper flexes during use. Regular use of a suitable leather conditioner will extend the time before which this flex cracking will occur.

In order to maintain the breathability and matt finish of the leather, spray's are normally recommended to treat and proof the leather. Meindl's Conditioner and Proofer spray or Grangers Footwear Repel Plus Spray. These sprays add an element of water repellancy to the leather and adds conditioning for leather, suede and nubuck.

For more protection and water repellancy, a wax can be used such as Meindl Sportwax or Grangers G-Wax. This will change the finish of the boots to a smooth grain leather finish.

Proper maintenance and care is a requirement of the manufacturers warranty.

The only walking shoes I would buy

This is my second pair. I dog walk 1-2 hours per day. They last for ages, are very comfortable for wide feet, warm in winter, waterproof, cannot fault.

Extremely comfortable I do not even need to wear them in. I do have a widish foot so this fit works.
They always keep my feet dry (obviously you have to re proof)
In my opinion these shoes are real value for money, they are comfortable, they provide the proper support when out walking, the soles are good, and they are waterproof providing you take care of them and re proof regularly as recommended.
This will be my third pair, my previous two pairs lasted for ages. In fact my last pair was bought from Hill & Dale outdoors in September 2020( I recommend you buy from this store, as they offer one of the best prices, provide great service at and free fast delivery)
Any way like I say lady pair bought in 2020 and only just having to replace in 2025, that’s value for money. These shoes owe me nothing. I highly recommend these shoe and Hill& Dale Outdoors. Five stars!*****
