The Meindl Meran GTX walking boot is part of the Comfort-Fit range for hikers with wider feet. Meindl has 300 years of skilled shoemaking and introduced this range for a supportive, easy fit and enhanced natural rolling movement. The uppers are Nubuck leather with wax for durability. Paired with a waterproof GORE-TEX lining, this boot offers full protection in all conditions.
The Comfort-Fit footbed is made from cork with a cushioning fleece lining and is wider at the front of the boot in both width and height. The wider base means more surface area to stand on giving more support than the standard footbed, more capacity for movement and reduced pressure.
The Meran GTX is complete with Meindl Comfort Hiker sole guaranteeing a strong grip on a variety of surfaces. Ideal for light hikes and trails.
Meran Lady GTX walking boot features:
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.
An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.
Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.
You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

Ordered these boots as need a wide fitting due to bunions. Am a regular walker clocking up 6 to 8 miles daily and really need to avoid the ‘bunion burn’. I knew the boots were coming from Germany, but was very pleased with how quickly Hill and Dale delivered them. Well, what can I say?!! Didn’t even need to break them in, went straight out on a normal daily hike, albeit a flat walk for the first outing, but then the next day was out in our local forest where it can get quite steep in places and the boots did not let me down. They are so comfortable with a nice spacious toe area and a supportive ankle with padding. No rubbing on any areas and the boots look gorgeous too. I am very impressed. Would highly recommend.
If you have wide feet and having trouble finding walking boots, then these are the boots for you. I use my boots every day walking the tracks nearby and so they need to be comfortable. These are the best fit ever and this is the second pair I have bought from Hill and Dale. Happy to buy on line....a first for me and my wide feet.
This is my third pair of these fantastic wide fit boots. Without Meindl wide fit, I would be unable to enjoy walking. I did Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in the first pair, walked around the Isle of Wight in the second. Wonder what I will will achieve in the third?
These are my second pair, with last ones lasting me for many years, and many miles. Comfortable from the minute you put them on. Delivery from Hill and Dale wasn’t fast but price was good.
I’ve not worn these boots on a “proper” walk yet, only around the house, but they seem very comfortable on my wide feet and I am confident they will be good for the next several years.

Having purchased meindl walking shoes and found them extremely comfortable I decided to get these boots.
They are so comfy from day 1, and have already been tested through the recent snow and are definitely waterproof.
Bought these a while ago after not being able to get ladies Vakuum, and they have been really good so far so decided to get another pair as I walk my dog everyday through mud and wet grass, thought it good to be able to alternate them so they can fully dry off. Wide fitting has definitely helped with some knee and leg issues and swelling. The expected delivery date (out of stock) was much quicker than the estimate they gave. Full marks again Hill and dale.
This is the 4th pair I've had and they have been hard-wearing, a good, generous width. I waterproof them regularly. Very comfortable.

These are the third pair of Meindl comfort fit boots I've had over the past 20 years or so. They have seen me tackle lots of mountaineering and expeditions - plus daily long walks with my dogs. They have always been super comfortable with good ankle support. The two previous pairs served their time as gardening boots, once they became too battered for walking. I need a wide fitting, as I have arthritis in my big toes. Before this current pair, I did buy a much cheaper (different make) option which were comfortable, but within 6 months started to seep moisture through the top of the boot, and then the sole split from the upper. So back to the trusted Meindl comfort fit! The Meindl boots are top price - but you certainly get what you pay for. If you need reliability and assured comfort, it is not worth compromise.

I live very rurally so have to buy my boots online or make a long journey. These were recommended to me by a fellow hiker and they have been comfortable straight out of the box. I went for the wide fit as I have bunions and that was the right choice. Lots of room in the toe box makes for easy walking. Love them .
2 Pairs of Vakuum (ladies) had both soles fall off after 14 months, but they were incredibly comfortable. I have torn meniscus in my knee and after trying other boots have just had to return to Meindl and hope these last. Walked 4 times so far 5 miles each time, on rough tracks and they seem good, little bit less sole comfort than Vakuum, but am happy with them. Hill and Dale perfect transaction.

Bought these to replace my wife’s worn out Meindl walking boots . Chose this style as she needs a wide fitting boot following surgery. These arrived in under 24 hours and were an excellent fit and very comfortable.. Highly recommend both the boot and the seller.

My friend & I both watched a lovely youtube series from a walker called wander wills who highly recommened these. And all reviews seem to comment on people having these for years & years!
They are very comfortable ! Ihave only ever worn sythnetic walking boots so I wasnt sure if these would feel too heavy - they are not! They are easy to walk in/ comfortable underfoot. The first couple of walks I was very "aware" of them - but 10 days later and they are just excellent.
I proofed them with the meindl sports wax before my first walk (the only disppaointment is that obvioulsy darkens them - but a small price to pay for ensuring these are looked after propelry and as per the booklet that came with them)
Having had a look about the price at Hill & Dale was the best - delivery was really fast as well.
Meindl comfort fit boots - the only walking boots I can put on and go straight out for a walk. No wearing them in.

Best wide boots I’ve ever had, would never go back to cheaper options, it’s the most expensive piece in my outdoors wardrobe but they worth every penny.
They are a premium brand so the price reflects this but comfortable leather inside and hopefully durable and waterproof for our long wet months of walking.

I have been trying to find a totally waterproof, leather and wide toe box pair of women’s hiking boots for ages. My recent order with Hill and Dale Outdoors is now my second pair of Meindl Meran Gtx boots. My current pair didn’t even need “walking in” they are so comfortable. I wax the leather after cleaning ( not every time I wear them ) and my feet have remained totally dry when walking in mud and through puddles. You can see the mud and water sliding off the boots!! They have certainly been challenged by the weather of late. I like the high cut which gives good ankle support. From my experience in researching where to buy them, I suspect that the model is a popular hiking boot and I can see why. My order was fulfilled extremely quickly. Highly recommended.
