The Veneto GTX is a mens wide fit trail boot from Meindl, excellent for those with wider feet. As part of the Comfort-Fit range, introduced to offer an easier, comfier wear, the Veneto GTX provide a supportive yet relaxed fit. Crafted by hand in Meindl’s German factory, the Veneto GTX is made from waxed Nubuck leather providing a classic style alongside durability and protection against abrasion. With the addition of a GORE-TEX lining the boot is fully waterproof and breathable. The Comfort-Fit footbed is made from cork and is more supportive than the standard footbed. It gives a wider surface area to stand on allowing for more movement of the toes and around the flex point, whilst keeping a firm hold around the heel. Adorned with a fleece lining this footbed makes the Veneto undeniably comfy and perfect for all day use. Complete with a Meindl Comfort Hiker II sole, giving fantastic traction on a variety of surfaces, the Veneto GTX is ideal for country walks and light hiking.

Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.

In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.
An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.
Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.
You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

Nice quality boots, appear very well made. Found them quite uncomfortable in the big toe joint area for quite a while, which is really unusual for me - I can normally wear any reputable brand new boots straight out of the box no problem. I can’t really tell what the grip will be like in the wet as it hasn’t rained! Biggest test for me is whether they stay waterproof longer than a few months, I’ve had to return several top brands because they’ve failed. I think that manufacturers appear to accept the occasional returns due to leaks, as the majority of boots they sell aren’t worn every day (like mine) and last the year leak free. (At which point the warranty’s expired). I really hope this pair last!

Well it rained, & the left boot started leaking round the toes. I’ve returned them to Hill & Dale & they’ve sent them to Meindl for their opinion. A real shame, because they were getting really comfortable & I found the grip was better than Vibram soles.
For the last 30 years of daily gardening and hiking I have always bought Brasher walking boots. I've needed 3 pairs, each pair lasting roughly 10 years.
Since Brasher was taken over the quality has dipped so I this is my first pair of Meindl walking boots. Early days yet but they seem sturdy, well built and comfortable.
Hopefully they too will last me 10 years!
Loving my new Meindl Veneto boots, still wearing them in, hoping they give me years of service…
Third pair of these which must say something! I use them as my everyday boots/shoes. A pair lasts about 1200 miles and 12-16 months. I wish they’d make the soles from a single material instead of different pieces, as some of the light grey parts come away after about 6months. When they start to do this I just snip them off. However - they very comfortable. (Not suitable for more extreme terrain.)
These boots are a replacement for my previous pair of Veneto Meindl boots bought about 12 years ago, which are still functional!!!
Boots ordered to replace identical size and make. They arrived within 36 hours - amazing!
Very well made traditional walking boots that look like they will last many years. They are comfortable and easy to put on and take off, there is one pair of 'hooks' at the top rather than two or three pairs making it quick and easy to lace up / undo.
Size wise, if you wear ordinary socks, same as shoe size but if you wear very thick socks you may want to try going up half a size.
They are warm and comfortable without being 'sweaty', the soles giving very good grip on the gravel path / low fell terrain they were designed for (Meindl class 'A').
The leather around the top of the boots is soft and supple where the boot meets your leg so no friction rub rashes.
Made of full leather panels so they clean easily and to its easy to apply the recommended Meindl 'sportwax' coating.
Overall, very impressed with the Boots so bought my wife a pair too.
After initial problems with left ankle affecting sciatic nerve, they are very comfortable, but perhaps not as much as my previous Meindl. Not sure why the boot is a 9 but the insole is marked 8 1/2.
For me it is a tight 9 - it is not as spacious as I was expecting.

Ordered about 13.00 hrs and delivered about 15.30 the next day. Did not pay for next day delivery either.
Normally I'd put 30 miles on a pair of boots before I considered them broken in but these I just started wearing and they've been fine.
Been a fan of Meindl for years and, in recent years, their comfort fit range in particular; these being my 3rd comfort fit pair. This latest pair are again superbly comfortable and shout quality. Wouldn't but anything else.
Now only purchase Meindl foot wear, due to their fit and value for money.
And, only tend to use Hill & Dale as they give the option of half sizes with free delivery.

Not quite wide enough bit beautiful boots
This is the forth pair I’ve purchased super comfortable very waterproof but the soles don’t last as long as they should

Ordered these boots to replace my previous pair of the same model, which are now over 10 years old. I have a short foot length, but a wide forefoot and often struggle to find boots to fit. These Meindls, with ‘comfort fit’ are perfect.. My old pair were as comfortable as a pair of old slippers. They were still waterproof, but the sole had seen better days, hence the replacement. New boots have bedded in nicely with just a week or so of use, and hopefully will see me through the next decade. Hill and Dale easy to order through, and delivery was prompt. Price was competitive with other suppliers.

I first bought a pair of these boots many years ago in Lake District. They get plenty of wear twice a day dog-walking in acid soil. When they finally wore out I bought exactly the same Meindl Veneto again.
