We engineer the fit of our products to help aid freedom of movement and enhance comfort during the intended activity.
Our products are defined in three fit categories, Active Mountain, Classic Mountain and Mountain Run. This is to help you choose the right clothing for the right activity and ensure the product fits as it was designed, for optimal performance.
All our fit categories take into consideration layering systems. For example, if you fit a size medium Active Mountain Fit baselayer, you will need a medium-sized Active Mountain Fit mid-layer and the same in a waterproof. Similarly, our Classic and Slim legwear take into consideration what you may wear over or underneath in various conditions, a winter weight trouser will have the space to wear Long Johns underneath (or Long Janes).
Please note all measurements are approximate. We reserve the right to amend specifications in the interests of improving our products.

The Torren jacket advances waterproof technology by providing outstanding breathability and packability, designed specifically for demanding mountain conditions. It incorporates a 3-layer PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY™ with a highly breathable RET 7 rating and is manufactured without intentional PFAS use. This jacket delivers superior wet weather protection with a 20,000mm Hydrostatic Head, featuring a helmet-compatible hood, harness-friendly pockets, and pit zips for enhanced ventilation. Built to support intense ascents, the Torren combines durability, protection, and performance to confidently accompany you on challenging climbs.

Montane’s PETRICHOR 3-layer technology delivers waterproof (20,000mm Hydrostatic Head), exceptionally breathable performance to the Torren Jacket. It scores a RET rating of less than 5, which means it is ideally suited for high-output activities in the outdoors, where it will remain breathable to keep you dry inside and out. This is achieved through the windproof, non-porous hydrophilic membrane that transports water vapour and moisture away from the body, an effect that increases in strength as you work harder. The 3-layer construction sandwiches the waterproof membrane between a 100% recycled, 21D Ripstop nylon face fabric and the lining, for improved durability and next-to-skin comfort.
Everything about the Men’s Torren Jacket has been designed for industry-leading moisture management. In addition to the highly breathable PETRICHOR waterproof fabric, large pit-zips have been incorporated to be used on the move and provide adaptable ventilation.
