How long does delivery take?

In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.

Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.

Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.

Who do you use for delivery?

Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.

We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.

For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.

Can I track my delivery?

A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.

For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.

What does 'Special Order' mean?

Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.

An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.

Can I return an item?

Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.

You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

Refunds are carried out immediately after receiving your item back. Return postage is at your own cost.

* for safety reasons, we do not accept the return of climbing equipment or underwear once it has been tried on.

Just great

I’ve used this over 2 nights just for single use. Couldn’t be more pleased. It’s really useful to have the inner attached when pitching (with footprint ). Like the option to enter/exit either side. Will be using next on a kayak trip with every confidence that it will work for me.

I have not used the tent yet but it seems very good …

… I put it up on my lawn to see how quickly it could be put up. Initially it took me 15 minutes but I think this would be down to 10 minutes now I know where everything fits together. It does seem to be very good value. I hope to test it properly soon.

One of the best value 2 man tents around, it's a well built sturdy tent capable for all season usage made by a UK company Terra Nova

I had already purchased the helm 1 compact from Hill & Dale, which I have used and rate highly. Bombproof in wind and rain, and no condensation issues.
I haven't used the helm 2 yet, however, I'm confident the quality will be as good as the helm 1, and the extra space will be most welcome.
I was pleased to be able to purchase the footprint as well, I'm looking forward to getting out and about in the not too distant future.

Wild Country Helm 2 - excellent tent

A great tent, fits two people comfortably. It has a porch area on each side for packs, boots etc.
It weighs about 5 lbs, nice aluminium poles, easy and quick to erect, all in one or fly first if you want to split the tent between two packs. Good pegs, strong and good in wind. I've not used it in snow, but the fly goes low to the ground and the tub is a few inches high, it should be ok if there's not much drifting.
I would suggest getting the footprint, it means your bags in the porches are off the ground.
I get one large and one standard Topo Neo-air inside.
Condensation on the outer is variable, I take a small sponge to wipe down before packing. Make sure your inner is well away from the fly, you should have no damp issues that way.
The groundsheet is ok, it can show a bit of damp on very wet ground where your weight has been, not really an issue, particularly with the footprint.
Zips are good, the fly opens from the bottom and the top, you can trap the outer if you're not careful, there's a Velcro fastened fly over the outer zips.
It's semi free standing, I seldom peg out the guys, but the outer needs pegging out to stabilise it.
There's room to sit up inside, the walls are quite steep and there's a loop to fasten your torch to. Two internal pockets, though one at either end.
Putting up takes a few minutes, taking down about the same. The bag has compression straps and a wide opening.
I'd buy it again. Wild Country make Terranova tents too.
